This adventure had it's start approximately four years ago. Zyndal arrived at the estate one October evening to announce that he had been able to locate a long-lost artifact, the jewel, Kontasark. The fabled legend was known to have been cut from a single multicolored gem several centuries earlier. Naturally we were intrigued enough to inquire as to it's current whereabouts. Zyndal informed us that, according to his research, it was to be found in the Kingdom of Noslenor, just northwest of the Mediterranean and if we were willing, he would lead us to it.

This past Spring, in the month of May, the staff here at the estate requested a holiday away. Although I reference them as staff, they are in reality, good friends who share the same ideas and goals with me. I was happy to meet with Zyndal and Basio and discuss a possible journey for everyone. After consultation, Zyndal suggested the land of Chambria, known for it's beautiful lakes, mountains and forests. I presented this idea to the staff and they were ecstatic. Our journey would begin as soon as preparations were made.

Last year, Basio, Zyndal and I were returning from the kingdom of Karantza, when we happened upon an old, crusty villager that told us of a fascinating place he called, "The Circle of Dreams". Not having heard of this curiosity before, we were naturally interested enough to ask for directions. The journey would take several days, but as we were not in a great hurry to return home, we decided to press on to this new adventure. Those few days were exciting on their own, but those details can be told at a later time.

Basio, Zyndal and I had determined that we would make a journey to that fabled land of antiquity, known as Atlantis, and so, about four years ago, we made our first attempt (see the stories, "Beyond the Pillars of Hercules" and "The Gardens of Antilla"). Zyndal's efforts bore fruit and we arrived by ship in the early spring of that year. Upon our arrival, our eyes were immediately drawn to the majestic temple dedicated to Poseidon that sat on the great hill overlooking the city.

The mysterious character of this piece stems from the feelings we all experienced as we journeyed through one of the most intriguing spots ever encountered.

On our way to Polchurn, our route took us by way of the Valley of Rinchon. The little-traveled road through the mist-covered valley was known by nearby residents as the "Road of Dreams", and was never used except in the full light of day. Tales from the villagers told of sounds emanating from the fog, mystical music heard and flashing rose colored lights.

A listener in Warsaw, Poland, asked about the musical track, "Moon Madness". That particular track was written about a year ago after we returned from an adventure in the land of Syderna. Although it was a stressful time for all of us, it did have comic overtones. After setting up camp in the shelter of the Warring Stones, Basio had returned to the high road, hoping to make sure that we hadn't been followed by guards of Denabio, the court astrologer.

About a year ago, Basio, Zyndal and I had an occasion to revisit the ancient kingdom of Tuareas near the eastern Mediterranean. We had encountered this beautiful spot on an earlier adventure and had made friends with the court wizard there, Berantan. He had promised a most unusual sight if we ever had a chance to return, and so we took this opportunity to renew our friendship.

Reading through my journal, I can find many interesting stories to share. The purpose in all of these adventures, of course, is to inspire and "paint musical pictures" in the mind of the listener.

As we sat in the stern, Zyndal whispered his excitement to Basio. Our voyage to the fabled land of Atlantis by way of the Pillars of Hercules had begun! The vessel moved away from the pier and within moments we were sailing! I remember the sounds of the seagulls overhead, the creaking of the mast and the swish of the oars in the water. It was a dreamlike setting with the sun beginning to set in a blaze of glory in the west with the open sea in front of us. The coastline sped past us and suddenly we were between the Pillars, the Straits of Gibralter as we know it.

Following the victory of Prince Chaldres and Duke Angrela over the Mitanites at Scandaren, we made our way to the castle gates to begin our journey home. We were stopped in our tracks by one of the guards who asked us to return to the palace.
